I've been there before and really enjoyed the place. For at least a year they've had this sign up. They didn't even try to word it nicely so I get the feeling they don't give a fuck. I'm wondering if anyone knows what happened to make them change?

Brother you are physically in front of it and asking Reddit. Ask them!
I’ve seen these go up when fairs are in town.
Issues with travelers
Feel like long-term, this is a flawed business plan.
Fair play to them tbh. I’m a believer in having the freedom to conduct your business the way you want to conduct it. They probably have a certain vibe that they want to maintain and fair play to them tbh, there’s almost no quiet *local* pubs left. With everything being so heavily commercialised, sometimes it’s nice to have a bit of contrast and consistency.
Is it an Irish pub?
We put the same one when travelers were hanging out. And if you want to go woke on me now, then have them in the pub, not buying anything, just sitting and using the toilet, bringing the kids in when it’s clearly only +18 and being very hostile because they all have a tribe mindset.
There was a pub near my parents house that had this sign up and it was because they had regulars that were so loyal that they actually didn’t need the extra trade.

It’s not new, I’ve lived in the area for many years.
Because Gyppo’s trash the place every summer 👍🏿
OP did you take this photo from across the road?
This is a local pub, for local people.
I don’t think regular means anything other than your average bloke coming in for a pint. They probably don’t want large groups of lads on stag nights or anyone bringing in any kind of problems. If you don’t regularly drink there but you walk in and order, they’re not going to mind.
This is a local pub for local people!
🥧🔑s in town
Local here: is to do with the Ealing Common fair
That signs been there for a few weeks. Not quite sure who (exactly) is being refused with this but I think that particular stretch has gotten quite rough over the last year
Simple. Issues with p*keys.
Popped my head in and thought ‘yeah I’ll leave you guys too it’.
Dead.
It’s been there for a while now
Also West Ealing has gone down the Swan.
If you aren’t witnessing crackheads robbing the local shops they are exhaling pipe smoke in your face as you walk past them.
They probably got tired of the abundence of dregs about.
The last 10 years have been cruel to that high street.
The times I’ve seen this on pubs was to keep the caravan dwellers club or the caravan utilising nomadic tribe out of the pub.
And, given what I’ve seen of their behaviour, the landlords have been quite right to do so.
They’ve had that sign up for years. At least since 2016.
It’s a decent pub. One of the few decent Irish pubs left in the area. Although I’d put Jonos ahead of it
I live near there and that signs been up for years and years. It’s do with Travellers, iirc.
Looks like it’s a local pub for local people.
How do I become regular if it’s only for regulars?
I’ve only ever seen this once, about 8 years ago when I lived in Whitechapel when all of the local pubs just closed for a couple of days for no reason, but the people on the market said it was because of travellers in the Royal London. I remember feeling extremely annoyed because I fancied a burger from the White Hart.
Wow blast from the past. I used to go in there with my ex, who lived just up the road and he was Irish.
But even then, we only popped in, and spent most of our time in the Castlebar (opposite, where he picked up his next boyfriend who he didn’t tell me about until very much later!), or to Ashby’s, which I see is now the Prince Arthur, a few doors up.
I wouldn’t worry about it with two other pubs, possibly more, on the doorstep.
