Trump set to announce US will agree trade deal with UK – reports

   Will be interesting to see is Farage levies much criticism, given it’s being announced proudly by his best buddy.

4. Well let’s see what the terms of the trade deal are before any conclusions can be made

   Either way, the UK has wanted a trade deal with the US for decades, and even more so after Brexit. If this deal is actually substantial then we have to view it as a massive success

   Obviously, Trump will be the one claiming victory, as though the UK previously did not want a trade deal but his presidency and decision making has somehow managed to strongarm the UK into signing one. But that’s fine. Smile, let him have his moment, and hopefully the UK can reap the rewards for the foreseeable

   Unless it is a massive pile of steaming shit

5. My most general take so far is that Starmer is generally fairly good at governing but utterly terrible at comms and PR. 

   If we get this it’d be a huge boost, but I imagine he’d fuck up the reveal and lose any credit.

6. I hope we’re not going to let them sell food here that have ingredients in them that can give you 14 different types of arse cancer.

7. Guarantee if Starmer has the same double tax contribution rule with USA as they do with the new trade deal with India, no one will be crying about it.

11. Fingers crossed this is good for the UK. Funny how the EU look like the petty ones out of the last month even with trumps erratic behaviour.

12. Now we just need to see the terms. It is good to get a deal but Trump is all about America first, so we will be the ones making all the concessions here. It might be better than nothing and it might help us on tariffs, however Trump would never make a deal where we are equal partners either.

    Personally, I just want it to include a clause that Golden Grahams and Honey Nut Cheerios will return to the UK and never be discontinued again.

13. How will this affect the price of bread in this country?

    What does this mean in real terms for the everyday man on the street ? When will they see or reap the tangible benefits of a trade deal?

14. This trade deal concept will last until tango Mussolini has another spasm and decides the UK is ‘screwing’ America. About 10 minutes.
