Everyone knows Russian meat waves won the war, not the 100s of 1000s of tanks and planes we produced or the supplies we shipped
It’s typical of Trump to over exaggerate to pander to his rabid supporters. As a loyal American it’s shameful to say our contribution to victory over Germany was more substantial than the USSR of the time.
It’s amazing how poorly Russia has been handling their asset in the White House.
We’re lucky than rather grin and go along with whatever addled nonsense Trump says (irrespective if it’s a “stopped clocked” moment and he accidentally says something true), they want to pick fights over stuff that no one actually cares about. Trump hates nothing more than to be challenged.
Let’s make sure that we don’t lose sight of Russia’s importance in WW2.
Russia was massively important in starting it by partnering with the Nazis in carving up Poland and eastern Europe. We should never forget.
Russia may list more men because of their fighting style but it was American Manufacturers and money troops that overwhelmingly helped win the war.
They expect to be remembered fondly for throwing human meatwaves at machine guns? They wouldn’t have had the horrific losses that they did if their government actually cared about their troops and equipped them properly with enough weapons, ammo, and warm clothing.
Its a joke when Russia brag about defeating nazi Germany. They were one who invaded Poland with Hitler and after Germany invaded Russia they were strugling against it without constant military aid from US and UK.
When they finally bombed, looted and raped on their way to Berlin it was UK who was there first, but UK stalled so Soviet Russia can pretend to be liberator.
It’s fair comment – Russia gave Hitler *way* more support than the US did 1938-1941
It belittles the effort of everyone who fought when we get into these childish arguments of who did more. I’m more concerned Russia is still under a dictator and US is tending towards a police state.
I always found this notion strange. The U.S. fought ALL three Axis powers with their primary target being Japan who they fought with little to no Allied help. Not to mention Lend Lease.
As a pro-Ukrainian American I do have to admit that we Americans do like to take credit for swooping in at the last minute. Not to say we didn’t go in hard and lost a lot, but we do like to talk ourselves up a bit.
