I know everybody loves the James Acaster season, or the first season with Romesh, or arguably the Bob Mortimer season but for me this was the best all-rounder cast overall. Every single person pulled their weight, and they were all hilarious (in my opinion)

Tbh there’s only been a few seasons where the line up didn’t gel, the couple of COVID seasons come to mind, but the past few series have been excellently cast
Series 5 (Bea, Mortimer, Watson, Kumar, Phillips) for me.
Then series 7 (Acaster, Knappitt, Wang, Gilbert, Godliman) and series 11 (Ritchie, Maddix, Mack, Kendall and the absolute casserole that was Mike Wozniak)
This show has been a revelation.
Agreed. Hopefully this season picks up as I’m not a fan of some of them so far.
First season was the best purely because no one, including us, had any idea what was going on
I found myself irrationally annoyed at Greg’s favouritism of Sarah a lot. But that’s every season.
Absolutely banger of a show though. This cast was top tier too.
Had no opinion on Fern Brady before this, after watching her on this, I really like her.
The Frankie Boyle/Ivo Graham love affair was pretty special
Na, Acaster and Rod
11 or 9.
I fucking love John Kearns
Yeah this was my favourite too. John Kearns is absolutely hilarious in this
Meh, I like them all. And you’ll never get a series like the first one because no-one, not even the audience, knew what was coming.
I thought this last series with Rosie Jones was hilarious. I’ve seen her stand up before and wasn’t keen, but Taskmaster has this habit of taking people you may not be keen on and showing them in a different light. Jenny Eclair and Phil Wang were others that I was apprehensive about but enjoyed thoroughly.
I agree, absolutely fantastic lineup. Yet to be topped.
Series 2 for me. Doc Brown, Joe Wilkinson, Jon Richardson, Katherine Ryan and Richard Osman.
Basically anything with Osman in is gold to me. If he’s ever on an episode of The Unbelievable Truth, you know it’s going to be a belter.
I think season 2 lineup was the most cohesive line up. Starting strong with the potato toss and the group decision whether to allow it was painfully funny.
John Kearns could read the manual of my boiler and do it in such a way I’d be on the floor cackling. And he probably would do it unintentionally. Man is just so naturally funny
Even a bad taskmaster season is a good watch compared to a lot of other telly, but I was genuinely buzzing after last week’s show because it felt fresh again. Some well known faces and some less well known, all with their own quirky style and thought it was brilliant. I’m hopeful this will go down as one of the great seasons.
Julian Clary/Sam Campbell/Lucy Beaumont/Sue Perkins/Susan Wokoma. Unparalleled in terms of studio banter.
For me, this was for sure the best lineup from the Channel 4 era.
“Which aircraft…”
11 for me. I love that Charlotte Ritchie and Mike Wozniak are both giving off very different but equally relatable “school teacher” vibes.
Yes! One of my favorite cast line-ups. Series 12 / 16 are my favorite too.
The positive vibes between Guz, Desiree & Morgana was an absolute delight (season 12?)
Who’s that dafty in the middle?
Taskmaster always seems to be on these days.
I think series 4 is a very strong contender
There’s an Alex Horne interview [on YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xINg-OfhJug) on how Fern Brady’s atypical responses to tasks broke Taskmaster so they had to fix it afterwards.
Series 4 is peak for me, even in spite of Joe Lycett, he’s actually pretty good in it.
If allowed, the Champion of Champions two parter, that’s as good as best as well.
Series 5 will always be favourite. Got to watch one episodes being filmed (the breadcrumb trail episode) and it was brilliant.

Wait..What?
Season 4 for me
The Australian first season had me laughing like an idiot when I watched it on YouTube. It was nice not knowing anyone in the cast beforehand and learning them as it goes along.
There are so many casts they are brilliant in their own way that I honestly couldn’t pick a favourite.
A lot easier to pick my least favourite(s) but that’s not cool.
Excellent series. There have been so many good lineups, but the first series I watched (Series 10) holds a special place in my heart, because I honestly don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard at a TV show as when Mawaan Rizwan tried to fill an egg with helium and was surprised when it didn’t work on the very first episode.
That being said, Bob, Aisling and Sally’s “Rosalind is a fucking nightmare” is a close second.
Series with The Two Wangs will be peak for a while I reckon
With this series tho I think Dara is probably the first “acknowledged smartypants” that actually was smart in the challenges?
Series 15 with Mae Martin, Kiell Smith-Bynoe, Jenny Eclair, Ivo Graham and Frankie Boyle was in fact the best season and I will absolutely die on this hill.
I can’t wait to see what this season brings, Jason Mantzouka brings such a chaotic energy that I love it. Whipping out lockpicks and knives from his pockets just in the first week.
