If you're not getting it, forget all the english and finnish you know, and just read the words how they are written, with a 70s "Finglish" accent

Hope it gives a better idea of what the "celebration" is/was about, it was always completely "tongue and cheek" and poking fun by some old finnish-americans and celebrating with other first generation american-finns, in a way that reflected the american immigrant expirience from Ireland, Italy or any other diaspora.

  1. Somewhat related, it’s interesting how often Americans (probably also others) seem to put long vowels at random places. You can see it in videos where they try to read Finnish and even then they place it wrong. This came to mind from maliiskuu (maaliskuu).

    Btw is this proto-rallyenglish?
