Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has expressed Ankara’s goal of achieving swift progress on critical issues, including the resumption of oil shipments through the Iraq-Türkiye Oil Pipeline.

At a joint press conference with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al Sudani in Ankara on Thursday, Erdogan highlighted the potential of the Development Road Project, a collaborative initiative between Türkiye and Iraq. He described it as a significant step toward enhancing stability and prosperity not only for both nations but for the wider region.

Prime Minister al Sudani also underscored the project’s importance, noting it offers a substantial opportunity to deepen integration between Türkiye and Iraq.

Additionally, Erdogan reaffirmed both countries’ commitment to combating threats posed by the terror organisations PKK, FETO, and DAESH, which endanger the security of both nations.

Erdogan addressed the escalating situation between Pakistan and India, President stating that Ankara is working to defuse the crisis before it hits “the point of no return, despite efforts by some to inflame it.”

Türkiye and Iraq have signed agreements in 11 key areas, including migration, education, drug control, disaster and emergency management, information and communication technologies, defence industry, higher education, metrology, and law.
