US envoy Steve Witkoff unveiled a new initiative at the UN Security Council called the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), aimed at bypassing Hamas and the UN to deliver aid directly to Gazans.
It will operate four secure civilian run distribution sites, each serving up to 300,000 people, with no military presence (IDF is meant to protect and cooperate but not directly intervene). Aid such as food, water, medicine, and hygiene kits will be distributed based on need, under strict oversight from independent experts and auditors to ensure transparency and prevent diversion.
In my opinion, once again both Trump and Israel prove wrong half the world and most of this website, which claims the “Genocide” or “Ethnic cleansing” or other lies are “Ramping up”, due to Israel’s recent reports on returning to wider operations in the strip.
Instead, we see a real effort and creativity, trying for the first time since Hamas started the war, to bypass the corrupt UN and other orgs which Hamas has completely abused. Help the people of Gaza with a chance of not feeding mostly Hamas and enriching their pockets by re-selling the free aid back to their own citizens.
As you can expect, the UN and other hypocrites already wrote the plan off and are resisting it. I suppose they recognize this as a major obstacle of helping their beloved Hamas.
I’m sure there’s some diabolical intent to this and a redditor who’s become an expert in these kinds of things within the last 5 months will list them out.
Isreal and the Trump admin clearly intend to annex Gaza and there isn’t anything that is going to stop them. I’m sure this is part of that effort, but it’s also true that the existing aid channels are compromised and work in the favor of the externally controlled Iranian proxy that is Hamas.
I don’t really see what leg the UN or other groups have to stand on.
Hamas obviously gets aid and some tax revenue from it (how wouldn’t win they guard it?).
And while the joint US/Isrseli plan isn’t great there has to be a return to aid at this point.
