I wil start an exchange year in Germany next semester and I need to apply for my visa. The thing is that I’m not sure which type of visa I should pick, none of the two type of study visas available in the Auslandsportal seem to apply for exchange. One is for vocational training and the other for to getting a students seeking a degree.

Can anyone help me with the process? Thank you!!

  1. I think you should question your exchange program representative.
    Most universities offers an sort of invitation when you registered with them for you to get a visa, this is the case if you came from outside of the schengen states. So if you didnt get any, I‘m really questioning the trustworthiness of that program.
    And since you said exchange program I‘m assuming you are pursuing higher education, so in case its not feel free to correct me. But if this is true you should choose the second one.
