  1. Good.

If the rich were forced to send their kids to the same schools as the rest of us, you can guarantee they’d suddenly find the funding to fix leaky roofs, buy new textbooks, and upgrade the IT equipment.

  2. Cognita gets off very lightly in this piece. This is a decision taken by a multinational private business based on a decreasing number of people willing or able to send their kids to a few paying school in Porthcawl, but you’d think from the whining in the piece that the UK government had taken the decision to close them out of spite.

  3. Very difficult for everyone involved, but especially the kids who are halfway through a GCSE or A Level course and now face having to find a school that offers the same subject combinations with the same exam boards at very little notice.
