I just read that as adults they only live for a month.
Xenos….
I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords…
And i never entered that garden again…
I like to think that strand of grass is actually connected to the little fella like a tail
Wasn’t this posted a few days ago?
What on earth is that beast?
Dragonflies. They eat mosquitoes and tiny insects
looking at these photos im like “oh wow how beautiful! nature is so cool” but if i saw this in my garden i would SHIT MYSELF
Amazing! It almost looks like a lm insect robot!
Ah, she’s built like a steak house, but handles like a bistro !
I’ll say she’s broad, she’s a heffer! 🫢
Dragonflies are beautiful, inquisitive creatures that for absolutely no reason I’m terrified of.
Did it eat the banana for scale?!?!

That is a DRAGONfly
I genuinely thought that was one of those stick on garden ornaments
Time to move house mate
Awesome!
mate, do you live in late carboniferous or what
As others have said, it is a female Broad Bodied Chaser.
They are absolutely incredible hunters with a 99%+ hunt success rate. They eat smaller insects and are quite voracious. Great for controlling biting insects and flies.
They are completely harmless to humans. If you have them around your pond, that is a good sign.
They’re absolutely stunning creatures, but can also be nightmare fuel.
Wtf looks like something where you’d start hearing orchestral music and healthbar would appear when you see it
I saw a gigantic fucking cockroach or something just chilling on the pavement yesterday, I was going to take a picture of it but I was more interested in getting the fuck away from it as quickly as possible.

Upon closer inspection, is one on top of the other?
Run away, monty python style.
Broad bodied chaser. Essentially a big fat dragonfly. Harmless.
Edit: Dragonfly, not firefly.

Sorry mate, it’s their garden now
Shit, guess it’s no longer your property.
They are a type of dragon fly. 👍
