  18. She’s using the incorrect word. What she means is that *allies don’t create misinformation campaigns to target one another*, which America is now engaged in against Denmark.

    As a Dane with Greenlandic friends and family of friends, we have been bouncing around X and FaceBook and it’s now full of machine-translated (reads like children’s grammar or is just wrong/nonsense), advertised groups that were created less than a week ago asking the Greenlanders what they think of the US and whether they would like to become Americans.

    Furthermore, bots are suddenly flooding all over the place writing messages in English that does everything it can to highlight anything bad the Danish government or king or queen has done to Greenland, completely ignoring anything positive, and highlights how much better the US is in every regard.

    Many of these messages read like they’re straight out of ChatGPT, with everything from “the user asks what… ” and adding long paragraphs and even a final “conclusion” section.

    Oftentimes the messages also contain severe factual errors that cannot be disputed, such as Denmark first arriving to Greenland a few dozen years ago and having no rights to it, or Danes having systematically raped Greenlanders, or Denmark not being a country, or refusing to acknowledge the existence of Bloktilskuddet, or saying Denmark is keeping the Greenlanders from building roads or mining their natural resources. They often respond immediately as well.

    If that isn’t the American government I’ll eat my fucking hat. The good news is that the Greenlanders appear to be seeing right through it. The groups have dozens of followers, and every reply to their post is incredulity.

    Weirdly, even though it’s Facebook where you can’t normally do this, the groups do not appear at all outside Greenland! On X is primarily appears to just be bots running around attacking our politicians.
