The Soviet Union never liberated Poland at all in 1945, but a change of dictatorship from Hitler to Stalin, as Poland was truly liberated by the Polish Solidarity in 1989 by declaring Democracy against Totalitarianism.

  1. It’s important to remember that solidarity protesters were still socialists, just democratic. Like many national heroes we know from polish history books

  2. that’s fucking true.
I can even say more – without the help of Western countries (mainly the USA), the USSR would not have been able to reach Berlin first. World War II really ended only militarily on May 8/9. The USSR did not defeat the Third Reich because they held opposing values. The USSR only eliminated the competition, as communism and fascism are essentially the same.

  3. Nah, there was a big difference between PRL and Belarus or Kazakhstan

Although of course we weren’t 100% independent, we weren’t part of USSR either

  4. Balcerowicz III RP was no better!

We had to wait to 2015 until we were trully freed thanks to Zjednoczona Prawica 😀

  5. Should we celebrate the Declaration of Independence?

  6. The title is *waaaay* offensive!

Downvote, be serious or get out Russian troll!

  7. And many of the communist oppressors never faced justice or were prosecuted, but instead enjoyed a privileged relationship with the new government and generous state benefits.

  8. Yes and no. Germans were much worse, Nazis planned to kill most of Poland’s population, or to resettle them far east. I mean, it was much worse scenario, than what USSR did, so in that sense USSR liberated Poland, bc the alternative would be no Poland at all.

Nonetheless, USSR did a lot of atrocities in Poland, they murdered a lot of Polish heroes and made Poland a puppet state

  9. You’re just weaklings. So they fuck you. It’s not pleasant, but it’s a fact.

  10. Neocommies hate Poland because the same social-democraric govt wrote a constitution that prohibits any party or group that propagates or worships totalitarianism, including Communism.

    Chapter1, paragraph 13 I believe
