Robert John Flynn, 77, has been wanted in the UK since August 2022 on eight counts of indecent assault of a child.
CLEVELAND — A man who has been wanted in the United Kingdom for nearly three years in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a child was arrested Friday morning in Garfield Heights.
Members of the U.S. Marshals Service’s Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force and its Office of International Operations arrested Robert John Flynn, 77, in the 6100 block of Turney Road.
Flynn has been wanted in the U.K. since August of 2022 on eight counts of indecent assault of a child, in violation of section 15 of the country’s Sexual Offenses Act of 1956, according to the Marshals Service.
The OIO obtained information that Flynn was in the Cleveland area, and Northeast Ohio Marshals investigated and located Flynn in Garfield Heights. The 77-year-old was charged in the eastern division of the Northern District of Ohio to facilitate his extradition to face the charges in the U.K.
Flynn will appear in federal court on the extradition charge.
