FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — Visit Fresno County announces that travelers spent $1.48 billion while visiting last year.
The results show that it is a 2.9% increase in spending from 2023.
Visit Fresno County brought 55 events to Fresno and Clovis, resulting in an increase in travel at the Yosemite International Airport for 2.6 million travelers.
Hotels and motels booked 30,374 nights for travelers, making an economic impact of $38.5 million.
Travel and tourism jobs totaled over 17,000 last year, which was a growth of 2.3%
The events held in 2024 included 3 CIF state championships, California State taekwondo championship, and the first Robotic Central Valley regional.
“It’s great to highlight the impact tourism has on local economies and the community. We’ll continue working hard to bring in new visitors to experience all that our area has to offer,” said Visit Fresno County President Lisa Oliveira.
