Waterford Camogie just posted this on their Instagram, but I don't see it from any other sources. Can anyone confirm?

    Waterford radio station confirms it. Doesn’t give a specific reason, but looks like they didn’t want the embarrassment of the players breaking the “rules” so the game has been delayed until the rules can be changed.

    It’s a farce, they’ve had years to sort this issue. Top athletes deserve better than a championship game being called off with less than 24 hours notice.

  7. Am I missing something here? What does it actually matter if they’re wearing shorts instead of skorts? I can’t actually see the logic behind players not being allowed to wear shorts. Just seems really silly.

  13. Where were all the players making representations when the last Congress motions were held? Strong arm protest …and if the Congress motion doesn’t go the way they want it they just defy it? Seems like this is something that will always go a certain way eventually anyway, 27 or a near future Congress. Victory might be attained but a lot of bad will generated….plus has made a right show of the sport nationally and internationally.

  20. Let the players wear whatever they feel most comfortable playing in…as long as its team approved, what’s the issue?

  21. Pretty weird hill to die on. Like sure, due process needs to happen but they could’ve allowed for the (stupid) rule to be “broken” until the meeting happens. It wouldn’t set a negative precedent.

  24. If this is about the skort debacle, then that’s embarrassing. Who gives a single shite if the ladies wear shorts or shorts, leave it up to them. I heard the topic being brought up, but naively didn’t give it much thought to it, because I thought they would change the rules to conform with logic. I’m the fool again.

  26. TBF these things are not that simple to change. It has to go thru proper channels. If players can wear whatever shorts they like then they can wear whatever socks, jerseys they like. There has to be rules and they take time to change.

  28. Why now? If they had an issue with skorts why didn’t they raise this during pre season or 5 or 10 years ago? Is it not in the rules that skorts must be worn? Why are they acting surprised that they can’t play if they don’t wear them? Seems kind of stupid.
