  1. I wanted to go skating on Finland’s lakes this winter. I could not do it – the ice on the lakes in Southern Finland was too soft and unsafe. The winter was super warm.

Maybe the bad ice conditions are one factor behind the deaths. People go fishing or walking on ice as they are used to do, and then sink & drown as the ice has no strength.

  2. Older generations have been ice-fishing on their nearby lakes every april, but it gets dangerous when climate changes. People are more cautious when starting something, but having done an activity for decades, it is easy to forget safety guidelines

  3. There are some things in life that school should teach with professional help from outside, swimming, fire safety , commons dangerous plants that look like yummy things, how to deal with animals ie, u cant pet a wolf and why we ask permission to pet dogs, how to navigate ice, the list goes on but, I remember being taught about quick sand , I know how to safely navigate quick sand , why isn’t ice common knowladge. Mind u 29 ppl isn’t that many in the grand scheme of things.
