4. I worked with an incredibly small business owner at one point who was not great with money. We looked at the books thoroughly, confused on where things were going. Turns out the two managers responsible for tracking sales had been fleecing her for years because they knew she was not good enough with math to notice when their cuts were inflated and when sales numbers did not match revenue. They pretended to be her friend until it became clear she had caught on and then disappeared. They messed up the books so hard it was impossible to do anything at that point.

   This feels a lot like that.
