    DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin made the statement during a Saturday CNN interview while defending the arrest of Mayor Baraka outside the facility.

    McLaughlin said. “**We actually have body camera footage of some of these members of Congress assaulting our ICE enforcement officers, including body slamming a female ICE officer**.

    Spokesperson for Democratic New Jersey Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman told Axios: “Threatening to arrest Members of Congress for exercising their lawful oversight authority is **another example of this administration abusing its power to try to intimidate anyone to stands up to them**.”

    Rep. LaMonica McIver told reporters during a press conference: “I was assaulted by multiple ICE officers while regional directors of ICE watched it happen.”

  6. This proves that they intend for us to have no free elections anymore. because they are setting precedent. So in their mind, there is no possibility that the left would be able to do the same thing to them.

    Which means that they intend to have a full authoritarian dictatorship.

  7. They’re obviously looking for an excuse to justify arresting members of the opposing party, suspending habeas corpus, and this will eventually get to martial law. It’s not if, it’s when.

  10. The problem I see is that the police and ICE don’t understand who is actually in charge via the law.

    But because Trump has tossed around EO’s, everyone things they are following the law.

    Last time I checked, following orders wasn’t something that future courts care about.

  11. The plan is to agitate to the point that a single person goes ballistic on one of these racist asshole ICE agents who have no jurisdiction in arresting American citizens other than it’s the one agency Trump and his cronies have complete control over.

    The defining factor of getting hired to be an ICE agent is that you failed police academy, you couldn’t make it in the military, or your ideals were just TOO much for any regular 9-5 job so you were fired. I also strongly believe if you’ve got a criminal record, you’ll be hired on the spot for ICE.

  12. I just realized this could be a play to get budget bill passed, if they arrest Dem members of Congress even for a few hours they could rush to pass the bills when the Dems are down some members.

    “Members of Congress have a legal authority to enter ICE & CBP facilities. Agencies are legally required to allow them entry.

    The people who should be facing consequences are those who laid hands on them to disrupt Oversight.

    Perhaps that’s why ICE agents are hiding their faces.”

  23. Speaking from just an academic point of view watching America start to spiral into fascism is interesting to watch. The alarms are not ringing nearly as loud as they need to be. It’s like the rhetoric has made us numb and gotten us ready for a full on takeover by a nutjob party.

  24. If you see ICE try to drag someone away, get in the way. Yell. Draw attention. Make everyone else get in their way too. 

    A hundred citizens engaging in direct confrontational action against each ICE agent is the first step towards getting the Nazis out of the government.
