Tensions soar as India launches missile strikes on Pakistan after Kashmir attack • FRANCE 24

In the town of Mazaf Farabad, residents carry the coffin of a victim killed in an overnight missile attack and place it in an ambulance. India launched deadly strikes in Pakistan and Pakistan administered Kashmir on Wednesday, targeting what it calls terrorist infrastructure. Pakistan says civilians and mosques were hit across several locations. Everyone was asleep and then there was a sound of an explosion. Our neighbor and his daughter were injured in the attack. They barely managed to reach the hospital late at night. The attack comes in response to gunmen storming an Indian controlled portion of Kashmir last month, killing 26 people, mostly Indian tourists. Delhi blames Pakistan for backing the militant attack which Islamabad denies. Despite a fortnight having passed since the attacks, there has been no demonstrable step from Pakistan to take action against the terrorist infrastructure on its territory or on territory under its control. Instead, all it has indulged in are denials and allegations. Pakistan has called it an act of war and says it shot down five Indian Air Force jets and a drone in self-defense. India saying several of its civilians were killed by Pakistani shelling. It is India which cowardly attacked Pakistan and violated our territorial integrity and sovereignity. Pakistan reserves the right and will respond to this aggression at a time, place and means of our own choice. Tensions between the two nuclear armed neighbors have long been high in the Kashmir region. India which has a Hindu majority and Pakistan which is mostly Muslim each control parts of Kashmir but claim it in full. The UN Secretary General says the world cannot afford a military confrontation between the two powers.

India and Pakistan are teetering on the edge of war following a series of missile strikes launched by India on Wednesday, targeting sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-controlled Kashmir. The strikes mark a significant escalation in the long-standing tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors. According to Indian officials, the attacks were aimed at dismantling terrorist infrastructure in response to last month’s deadly assault by gunmen who killed over two dozen civilians in India-controlled Kashmir. 1. Pak Defence minister surrendered 😂😂😂 said – we will wrap things up if India wants to de-escalate. India already did what Pakistan deserve.

  2. Naked aggression from India. And I’m sure Trump will temper this with grace and poise, just like a bull in a china shop.

  3. Hope both sides will come to an agreement, because conflicts only give innocent people (on both sides) even more sufferings. ❤🇮🇳🇵🇰 from 🇻🇳

  4. Why you western media act like hypocrite ? those are not victims , those were terrorist. do some more research on it or leave journalism and do some other business.

  5. After last night's humiliation, the Indians may shift to the F-35 (with the arrival of Chinese stealth fighters, they currently have no other option available and ready in the short term). But I think the F-35 was there last night, the Indian pilot was also dishonoring it, and that was what he had eaten last night. Last night, the Indians did not only lose their own reputation, they lost the reputation of the French aerospace industry with a history of relatively successful operational experiences in several serious wars in the world.
