  1. Who’s surprised?

If you are, you might be a moron.

  2. With the GOP in control its always one step forward and a marathon back. Biblical law (Christian Reconstructionism) is creeping into our lives. The irony being they worship a man worse than the mythical Satan.

  3. Oh there it’s.  I was wondering when this would show up.

  4. This makes me feel sick. Why can’t they accept ppl love their own ways.

  5. SCOTUS answers “We thought legislation was YOUR job”.

  6. Annnnddd the GOP continues to take away freedom from people.

Fewer rights for some means fewer rights for all.

  7. The Bible doesn’t support the idea of “one man one woman” marriage unless you are an elder in the church (1 Timothy 3:2). The ones defending that idea to apply to all marriages are women given to jealousy. They’re confidently wrong, and violating the proscription against women teaching. A hypocrite.

When two become one flesh, a man marrying a second wife also brings her into two become one flesh. Polygamy is only condemned by the Bible in that it could lead a man’s heart astray, not that they sinned by having multiple wives.

As for her petition, she hasn’t demonstrated actionable harms. All that she has is it offending her feelings and conviction. If a man’s free exercise of religion is that he can marry other men, Congress has no right to prohibit it.

  8. There ‘ya go, Peter Thiel! Glad you love your money and your bizarre Will to Power more than anything else.

  9. It was a coin flip between same sex and biracial marriage. I’m shocked it took this long.

  10. Historical tidbit: The original Pride was a riot against the government. This is not a community you want to push against the wall. And they have more allies now than they did before.

  11. >”As I said on the floor earlier this year they will continue to strip rights and freedoms from their fellow Iowans until none remain…And they will continue until they are relieved of the burden of Governing.”

    >Rep. Aime Wichtendahl (D), Iowa’s first out transgender state lawmaker

I recommend we relieve them at the very next opportunity.

  12. Fuck you Sandy Salmon – you shit. How many same sex couples have tried to overturn opposite sex marriage? So shut the hell up and stop threatening other people’s way of life that have never tried to stop you from living your’s.

  13. It only took four months for the thing everyone assured me would never happen to casually happen. Funny that, huh

  14. I will never forget celebrating as an ally with my chosen family and wept as they gained access to rights every human should have. I am heartbroken that I’m going to see them lose that right only ten years later.

  15. “It’s settled law, they’ll never come for SS Marriage.”

And yet, here we are. Exactly as predicted.

  16. I am 63 yrs old and for the life of me I dont understand why poeple give a rats ass about what other people are doing with there lives. God knows for a fact that I have an issue with keeping up with my own sidewalk , jeeez.

  17. A Senate Resolution — a state senate, no less– has zero effect on the Supreme Court.

Performative nonsense yet again by some cornpone Iowa politician.

  18. Wasn’t same sex marriage codified during Biden’s term? Seems to me like that goes against the argument of this resolution.

  19. “Nobody’s going to roll back same sex marriage, you need to chill out and stop believing everything the media tells you” – famous last words

  20. We went from being one of the first states to legalize gay marriage to being the state trying to over turn it. Republicans have turned this state to shit. Horse fucker Kimmy is doing all she can to burn through our cash reserves by shoving as much money to her friends. We can’t sue ag companies for poisoning our water and soil (Iowa has a cancer rate 5x higher then the national average). Doctors and new grads are fleeing the state, education is going to absolute shit.

  21. That is not how this works. It is not how any of this works.

  22. “They aren’t going to go after gay rights.”

    Yeah, right.

  23. And there we go. Maga voters are despicable filth.

  24. I remember predicting this and being told that I was overreacting or doomsaying.

    Sucks to be right.
