  2. Expect him to pray to peace in the world and for ALL sides to stop war. Then meet Putin and never ever place direct blame of him or the Russian people

  3. The key phrase is “not yet pope”.

    As a pope he will likely be a lot more diplomatic. There are 240-773k catholics living in Russia he likely does not want to see having undue attention by the Kremlin.

    Conversely pope Francis sure as day had his own opinions on the war he has never been able to voice so bluntly as he was already pope when the war started.

  6. His elevation will add a huge amount of weight to the reality of what has been happening in Ukraine. The Russians have been absolute butchers and barbarians. Pope Leo XIV acknowledges this and has rightly called them out. Hopefully his voice can finally cut through all of the misinformation fed to the public in the West about what has been happening in Ukraine. Ukraine is a democracy that was attacked under false pretences. The West must support Ukraine, and the barbarians must be pushed back and ultimately held to account for their atrocities.

  11. Whenever I hear about the Pope. I think of this song lyric. “Ich pisse auf den Papst und seine römische Zentrale auf den Vatikan und seine Skalven.”😅

    Even if he is right in his statement. The Catholic Church also has enough shit on its hands… But this applies to almost every religion and branches of religions. fuck them all.
