This is ridiculous. Everyone else needs to bear the brunt of no indexation should costs rise. Pensioners don’t a second indexation should inflation keep rising, wages don’t, but for parents it’s fine to increase child benefits.
Shouldn’t we all have the same equal treatment? If my wages don’t get indexed, which I am fine with because I understand that for businesses it is increasingly difficult, then why do child benefits get indexed? Or, in the reverse, if child benefits are indexed, then so too should my wages!
Me, single, Independant doesn’t get shit. But don’t you worry Luxembourg you will just lose more people. Have to work more and more and still can’t afford a one room appartement. So how am I even supposed to make children? Ridiculous.
Even if I do not make children myself, I would like the children of my communities to be well looked after. This could help families that are struggling and keep kids from being put in difficult life situations (like seeing their parents skip meals so they can be fed). I know a lot of people would scoff at this as there are a lot of rich families in Luxembourg who don’t need this, but there are a lot of poor ones too – even simply house-poor because of the increase in the cost of real estate. So this is fine for me. Kids didn’t ask to be alive, and we as a society should help make sure they can be well taken care of until they are able to fend for themselves (at which point they can benefit from other social programs as necessary).
