Been single, now married. Life is a lot cheaper being married, a lot of expenses you need to incur to live (shelter, utilities, etc) really don’t increase when you have 2 people, so in effect you get a discount. Also, if both spouses work, two incomes. From a purely economic viewpoint, marriage is a good option

It’s a survey of 1,000 people I wouldn’t put too much into it. It was also a survey from self financial that mainly sells credit building tools and loans. So the only people that probably took that survey have shit Credit. hardly indicative of the country overall.
If nothing else, for an ordinary American it is always financially convenient to have a partner; if you were already financially independent it is easy to become single again. At least financially.
