  1. As an American…I get it. The current administration doesn't value knowledge, education, experience, and doesn't listen to experts or anyone qualified so progressive countries will honor the contributions of those who can advance their countries and various fields.

  2. The Scandinavian countries have done this since late fall. US research schools of note started to sell off their medical research departments. Schools like Duke. Europe will shortly become the premier research area of the world and the US will decline to third-tier status.
Think of the reasons why our ancestors immigrated so many. Years ago from the “old country”. Now we’re seeing the reverse happen.

  3. This is like attacking core strength of USA. US influence works because of their technology and patents. Europe can't sell semiconductors and machines to China because they use US technology in that machines. Without technological superiority no influence no sanctions. Trump is really working for China or Russia…lol

  4. Come to Portugal: we welcome you with open arms!
We strongly believe and support science, research and academia!

  5. 1:10 I bet the rich didnt get ANY cut, its JUST like it was said (i think bernie was onw of those people). Its hard to argue its for the betterment of people like this.

  6. I think Americans would be interested if they not just pay them money to call them over but make it easy for them to meld into life and have a thriving network of scientists that helps with easier collaboration

  7. I'd say it's a good idea, better that are scientists go somewhere where they're actually appreciated, instead of being stuck in a country that has decided that it apparently hates the very concept of science

  8. This is sad for the U.S but I can’t blame them. Trump is making this country unwelcoming to science and unsafe for scientists.
