  2. It is quite possible that they’ve lost GPS (or sold their charts) and so forced to sail alongside other ships in the hope that they’ll see familiar shores.

  3. They’re most likely trying to keep an eye on carrier activity. It’s become clear that the Russians have been lacking in sophisticated military equipment. Between that and the semiconductor shortage, they’re probably nervous because they don’t really know what the US is doing or what they’re capable of.

  4. I’m no expert on water ownership, but surely they can’t be in international waters everywhere in the Mediterranean? Wouldn’t that be a breach of… something?
