  6. In the movie Conclave there’s a scene where someone says they all have a papal name lined up. I wonder when that usually happens – right at the start of seminar, when you start going up the ranks, on the way to Rome for the conclave? Given all the stuff that people read into the name, it’d be cavalier to wait until the last moment.

  18. Left the church decades ago, but I respected Francis’ commitment to the much simpler, plain white robes. It makes seeing this vestment here seem so gaudy by comparison.

  22. I have cautious optimism about his papacy. He seems to be following in the footsteps of Pope Francis, so that’s a good sign. We’ll just have to wait and see where he takes the church
