Sweden eyes OnlyFans ban with a bill which would make it illegal • FRANCE 24 English
Ka pudden pandant hasn’t been able to work a regular job since developing exhaustion syndrome several years ago. Now she works 10 hours a week from home, but not quite in the way you might think. So many boxes. Everything’s scattered. Sadly, this one’s ruined since I wore it when my breasts were too big. Creates content on video on demand website only fans. Precisely the sort of site now in the Swedish government’s crosshairs. They’ve proposed a bill that would make it illegal to pay anyone to perform a sexual act on camera. A digital update to the country’s existing prostitution law that makes it illegal to buy but not to sell one’s own body for sexual services. I recognize that there are individuals who are adversely affected. However, I genuinely enjoy my work. I pay taxes and VAT, so should my workplace be prohibited? I think this is my safe space where I’ve been able to do my work without meeting anyone. The bill’s backers include a nonprofit aiding exploited women in the sex trade. For one of its directors, there’s no difference to abuse online or offline. [Music] The stories we hear make it very clear that this creates constant anxiety and the lack of control over these images and video. Who will see this? How can I take it down? It’s really difficult to take down. For Kina, if the bill goes through, she says she’ll have to leave Sweden and wants more dialogue. I don’t get it. I think they should talk to us girls about this and maybe create a more protected environment for what we do instead. Under the proposed law, pre-recorded material would still be legal, but influencing its content would not. The bill is due to be introduced over the summer.
The government has proposed, starting this summer, to make it illegal for people in Sweden to pay someone to have sex or masturbate in front of a camera. One of the arguments for the bill is that platforms such as OnlyFans could become a gateway to prostitution. However, some of the platform’s creators argue that this bill will put them in a difficult position and, in the worst case, could cause them to lose their livelihood. Story by Luke Shrago.

I'm gonna miss dredd 😂
What about #stopshowingyourbutth*letostrangersforaliving?
Much more problems in Sweden than onlyfans, and pages like that are safer than instagram, X, Snapchat and so on where so much is also sold. The crimes in Sweden is enormous with bombs, and police can’t go into certain areas, maybe use the money on rehabilitation, helping children, more police and prisons
Make a law to regulate companies managing this content to make it safer and easier to delete unwanted content instead of, like always, targeting the poor people who just want to make money. Always individuals that are targeted but never companies
Ban all of it!!!
This likely for the better.
Ukraine wants to legalize it to help fund their war, guess you guys dont like talking about that
Thats why the work space is strugling and when their government look elsewhere they start complaining.
It's online Prostitution. And US was focused on Tiktok until it wasn't. Way to go Sweden
horrible news for freedom
Boooo. Never been on the site, just don't like censorship. Any censorship.
"prohibit anyone from performing a sexual act on camera" 😂 yea thats not coming
as always the only thing that matters is how the women doing it can be protected, not people like young boys who might get exposed to this stuff
Just talk, llafe llafe.
It's about time, give those whookers a hard time. Get a real job, why don't you
Well done Sweden – a socially responsible country. 🫂🇵🇹🇪🇺
Yet you're free to burn Quran in public to cause hate. What a way to express freedom…
why ban a website that more than adult entertainers use to connect with fans. i don’t get the logic of targeting a subscription based website for the misuse of people’s content when reddit will go on.
Good work….
This is how some women are looting men virtually ….
When Scandinavian "progressives" go so far that they are similar Saudi Arabian conservatives 😂 Sweden has lost the plot, give people the freedom to do what you want, fight the abuses instead.
She pays her taxes and makes a living out of it. In addition there are many lonely people who benefit from her content. Sick people, without family, who need some entertainment 😊
I absolutely agree with her! If they're going to be creating bills about the people they should talk to the people they're creating bills about, to try to create a safer environment for them versus taking away their environment. That's how it should be with all people's
LOL progressives eating themselves.
Only Fans is the equivalent of prostitution online. This is illegal and unconstitutional. What a scam
good it should be ban everywhere
Since she works limited hours due to her condition, does she collect any kind of disability or government money to supplement her living expenses?
Why would anyone think that the buyer is the only guilty party. What kind of hypocritical version of liberalism is this?
It's protected by 1st amendment onlyfans ain't illegal sweeden can't people's got 1st amendment right they cant make illegal people buy sex over internet i don't sweeden ain't effecting me anyway
😂😂😂
Thank god I’m so happy they taking this away it need to be gone everywhere
BOOOOO!! I hate this. Women have the right to make money too.
OF is not forcing anyone. Any women who are supporting this law is brainwashed/or have internalized patriarchy
Women should have right to choose if they wanna do OF or not, it's their choice. They are adults & not child & don't need a law in name of "protection" & "human" rights
Well what about other live streaming sites? Aren't those in the same category
