  6. My parents were both raised in poverty to single mothers, and managed to snag bachelor degrees from modest state schools that led to okay entry level bank jobs. By age 27 they were building their third house together in the suburbs with 2 kids in private school and a 3rd on the way. I haven’t made every good decision, but I’ve done my best and have a management job in tech. That said, in 40 years of work I will never catch up to where they were at 27

  11. My parents literally had the sweet spot of financial security and affordable education. Everything has gone down hill since. Boomers don’t know how good they had it. I really feel bad for future generations.
