Annabel Wilson took a significant step towards retaining her Ladies European Tour status for next season by finishing 12th at the Aramco Korea Championship yesterday.

Rounds of 74, 70 and 72 ensured the Castlerock based professional finished the event on level par, seven shots behind winner, home favourite Hyo Joo Kim.

Wilson also took home her largest pay-cheque to date, $12,600, and in doing so moved to 44th in the order of merit.

Lauren Walsh is currently the highest ranked Irish competitor on the Ladies European Tour, currently in 10th position.

Meanwhile, Leona Maguire’s lacklustre season continued with a missed cut at the Mizuho Americas Open. It was Maguire’s first missed cut of a season which has so far failed to spark into life.

On the HotelPlanner Tour, Jonathan Caldwell grabbed his best finish of the season at the Challenge de España.

Caldwell’s four round total of 12 under par saw him grab a share of 11th, five shots behind the winner Frenchman, Clement Charmasson held his nerve to secure a maiden HotelPlanner Tour on 17 under.
