With how often historical sites get blown up by insurgents across the world I’d say better in the museum
I asked my daughter if she wants to go to the British Museum to see antiquities and artifacts (as a history student. It was one of my favorite places on earth)… She retorted “you mean all of the pirated indigenous materials they stole from cultures around the world??” …Mmm yes?
Been thinking that if the Yanks have a civil war, we should sneak in and nick the Statue of Liberty.

If the gripe is how the artic acts were obtained, some were definately obtained in ways that we wouldn’t repeat today, but in many cases the movement of said treasures to the British museum spared them from a worse fate in countries which at the time, did not appreciate them!
I reckon we’ll give back our artefacts when Istanbul returns the looted columns in the Hagia Sophia to thier rightful owners, the Americans hand back the black hills and Mongolia pays reparations to pretty much the entire if Central Asia…..

British Museum is shite anyway. They never altered the collection and the way the artifacts are presented is like a shop window.
