Interesting article about Prince Andrew's open racism. I missed this at the time.

"after he was accused of using the word “n*****” during a meeting with a Downing Street aide…

During a discussion of the royal’s links with Epstein, she said: “I met him [Prince Andrew] several times, including once at a state banquet where after dinner, I and my husband and another Labour cabinet minister had a drink with him, and I have to say the conversation left us slack-jawed with the things that he felt it was appropriate to say.”

Pressed on what the duke had said, the ex-MP added: “It was a state dinner for the Saudi royal family and he made racist comments about Arabs that were unbelievable.

“The fact he thought we might find this amusing was sort of a terrible situation to be in. I don’t think he’s very bright. I don’t think he really understands the way in which he behaves. He’s the worst end of the royal family, I think."

  1. Princess Michael showed up with a racist/colonialist brooch at her first meeting with Meghan. A lady in waiting to Queen Elizabeth welcomed a black guest to a gala with a grilling about where she was “really” from. Someone somewhere apparently wondered aloud what Prince Harry’s children “would look like.” Prince Philip made more than one verbal “faux-pas” that was utterly racist. King Charles was photographed in I don’t know which rooms that had incredibly colonialist/racist decor. Prince Harry showed up to a fancy dress party dressed up as a Nazi like it was nothing.

At some point, whether it reflects their genuine nature or not, we’re all going to have to realize that racism is openly tolerated in that family.

And it should hardly be surprising. When you represent the latest incarnation of a family that has been treated as the cream of the crop for centuries, a family that at one time financially benefitted from colonialism and the slave trade, a family portrayed as the guardian of an empire… you must lose touch with reality at some point.

    Edit – Added another example.

  2. I don’t think any of them are very bright, and this isn’t very surprising, sadly.

  3. Andrew is a blight upon his family. Sorry QEII, but it’s true. She probably knew it too, by the end.

  4. Unfortunately he was a later in life child and he was spoiled.

  5. I loved the late Queen and I get that you love your kids no matter what but damn, she had four to choose from to be her favorite and she picks the buffoon.

  6. It’s telling g he wasn’t stripped of his titles and ousted but Harry and Meghan were supposedly for doing nothing but wanting to be respected.

  7. I mean, his interview about Virginia Giuffre showed just how much of an unintelligent pompous fool he is, and how little insight he has into how he comes across.

  8. I just assume the entire British royal family is not so secretly racist, Harry included.

  9. It is weird people downvoting this post. I guess we are supposed to ignore the racism and just comment on pretty dresses.
