  1. Bloody hell surely that can’t be right! Aren’t the mini ones like a 100 calorie

  2. I know that they always say people underestimate their calorie consumption, but 500kcal for a mini flapjack seems absolutely bonkers to me …

  3. I think they’ve mistaken the ‘per 100g’ weight for the ‘per mini flapjack’

  4. There’s a reason flapjacks are a good bet for emergency food whilst hiking etc.

One will keep you alive for weeks and still plenty left as a little treat for mountain rescue.

  5. Yes I like my mini flapjacks to contain 30 teaspoons of sugar

  6. I’ve banned these from my house when we go shopping. I’d find myself grabbing one or two anytime I’d have to go in the kitchen or find a reason to go in the kitchen. A full box wouldn’t even last a day and the kids where lucky if they’d even got one before I demolished them all.

  7. Hold up we’ve solved climate change – mini flapjacks as a new energy source.

  8. Just imagine if it followed the traffic light system

  9. Flapjacks are terrible for calories. They have to be banned in my house because they’re so bloody morish and before you know it you’ve had a few snacks and eaten your whole days calories.

  10. Flapjack ingredients are butter and golden syrup with some oats added. They were never going to be a low calorie option.

  11. That has to be per 100g.

British military rations have full chunky sized bars that are 500 calories, and cake deserts that are 400-500 calories.

This little square is about 1/5th of those.

  12. Did a 24hr Endurance Relay Run and basically fuelled the entire thing on these and grapes. Worked a treat.

  13. Boring answer –

It’ll be per 100g, as the figure is about right for that.

But also, when we say calories – we actually mean kilo-calories.

So if conversationally someone says that a Mars Bar is 220 calories, they actually mean it’s 220 kcal.

  14. Great for long bike rides, big amount of calories and easy to transport:

  15. If its Morrisons I’ve noticed they make this mistake quite often with their bakes. I also got a similar caloric label for those mini donuts. Not sure why they haven’t noticed it’s wrong so many times.

  16. reminds me of a video I saw comparing calories in crumbl cookies (an american brand that were a trend for a while on tik tok)

anyway, the highest had 900+ calories in one of those bad boys. they’re not even big cookies, probably smaller than the ones you get in the bakery at a supermarket. WTF

  17. You’re ok. Flapjacks don’t count towards towards calories.
