Prince Harry has been accused of having the “mother of all f*** ups” after footage emerged of him on a “walkabout” in the streets of London. The Duke of Sussex, 40, was captured on a doorbell camera outside a stranger’s house just hours after a Court of Appeal hearing where his barrister said his life is “at stake” unless he is granted UK police protection.
Harry‘s bombshell interview with the BBC was later released on May 2, with the royal discussing a “pretty dark” conspiracy theory suggesting that shadowy figures want him dead. Speaking to the MailOnline, a security source has now said that if Harry was there without his bodyguard then it is “the mother of all f**k ups”.
The Mail on Sunday has recently discovered that the royal appeared to have been looking for John and Georgina Vaughan, who are both thought to be old friends.
The Vaughan family are said to be “long gone” after having moved elsewhere – something that Harry was reportedly unaware of.
It remains unclear whether the former working royal was without his private bodyguard completely – or if former Met Police Officer David Langdown was just out of frame of the footage.
Speaking after the footage emerged, former Scotland Yard detective and undercover police officer Peter Bleksley said: “I’ve supplied security to high net worth individuals in the private sector so I’ve protected people similar to him and for him to be able to go walkabout down a London street without a security detail will have been his decision – and his alone”.
Discussing Harry, royal author Tom Bower said, after reviewing the footage, it appears that Harry is “lost” – explaining that he meant at that specific moment and in general due to the ongoing feud with his family.
He said: “He’s pretty desperate. He was looking for company, I think. That really is the issue. Harry feels completely isolated from Britain and what’s remarkable is that he didn’t have one of his bodyguards, who he pays a lot of money to, to go and find his friend.”
Speaking to GB News, he added: “Harry doesn’t know what to do anymore. He’s losing all sorts of relations in Britain.
“He hasn’t got a purpose. He’s embarrassed with his charities in Africa. Invictus is really only once every two years. He’s losing any reason for being the Prince.”
