I wish this were true. As someone who has been building a startup in Latvia, I am not seeing any support.
It took two years to open a bank account here because I’m not a citizen. The taxes are higher than in Estonia and Lithuania. And there is this weird culture of “you should know everything already; learning is for morons”.
I work (intern) for pretty sizable Latvian startup and biggest thing I see going for Latvia, is it is cheap to live there. It seems like most of the support comes from businesses or organizations (like startup Latvia) and not as much government, but idk all the tax credit stuff companies maybe get. That said I didn’t know about the relative ease to get a spot to live in latvia for startup founders (5 founder thing) so that is pretty cool.
