The average polyacetals import price stood at $3,351 per ton in 2023, shrinking by -7.1% against the previous year. Over the period from 2013 to 2023, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.5%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 26%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $3,757 per ton. From 2022 to 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

The exports peaked at 7.5K tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2024, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, polyacetals exports skyrocketed to $5.7M in 2024. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a mild contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2022 with an increase of 84% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $8.3M. From 2023 to 2024, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports By Country

Malaysia (802 tons) was the main destination for polyacetals exports from the UK, with a 17% share of total exports. Moreover, polyacetals exports to Malaysia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Slovakia (186 tons), fourfold. Ireland (65 tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 1.4% share.

From 2013 to 2023, the average annual growth rate of volume to Malaysia stood at +48.8%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Slovakia (+71.3% per year) and Ireland (-1.8% per year).

In value terms, Malaysia ($1.1M), the United States ($649K) and Slovakia ($311K) constituted the largest markets for polyacetals exported from the UK worldwide, with a combined 48% share of total exports.

Slovakia, with a CAGR of +65.6%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average polyacetals export price stood at $927 per ton in 2023, dropping by -70.1% against the previous year. Overall, the export price faced a abrupt shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 221%.
