4. Except in the 80s everyone was talking about how the US had to get better. Workers had to be more productive. Business leaders needed to have better plans. We needed better technology. We needed to compete.

   Nobody was suggesting we were getting ripped off or that we needed help by using tariffs or some other attack on the free market. Nobody was crying about fairness.

   The country looked at what it needed to be and got better.
