Details of the SRF investigation
>__SRF research: Undercover as a security__
>A journalist from SRF Investigativ went undercover as an employee of various private security companies. The research showed how dubiously certain companies recruit their staff. They hardly check new employees, do not train them and let them work for low wages and under sometimes precarious conditions.
>An undercover assignment took the journalist to the company b.i.g. Sicherheit und Services AG . At the “Polizeikaserne” asylum centre in Zurich, she was tasked with monitoring asylum seekers, protecting staff and preventing conflicts. The reporter received virtually no preparation from the security company for this job. There was no background check or criminal record check – as required by the Zurich Police Act. There were no instructions about their competences or about de-escalation of violence. This approach by b.i.g. also contradicts the rules of the industry association VSSU, which has since expelled the company.
