India Pakistan Ceasefire News Live Updates: Indigo and Air India have cancelled Tuesday’s flights to and from Jammu, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Leh, Srinagar, and Rajkot. In separate posts on X, the carriers said the cancellations come “in light of latest developments” and keeping passengers’ “safety” as priority. Air India also cancelled flight operations to Bhuj and Jamnagar. On Monday evening, Indigo’s Delhi-Amritsar flight returned to the Capital midway after a precautionary blackout was enforced in Amritsar and a few other areas of Punjab. The airline however did not comment on the reason behind the diversion.
FS Misri to brief Parliamentary panel on Pakistan: Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri will brief the Parliament’s Standing Committee on External Affairs over the ongoing situation with Pakistan, after days of border skirmish and heightened tensions between the two neighbouring countries. Misri will conduct the briefing on May 19. The committee’s chairman and Congress MP Shashi Tharoor told PTI Misri will brief the panel on Monday on the developments, which were marked by India striking terror sites in Pakistan followed by days of intense conflict between the two countries before they agreed to stop military actions.
PM Modi’s first address since Operation Sindoor: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday asserted that India will not tolerate any “nuclear blackmail”, and said that operations against Pakistan have only been kept in abeyance and the future will depend on their behaviour. Speaking for the first time after Operation Sindoor was launched, the Prime Minister said, “Operation Sindoor is now India’s new policy against terrorism, a new line has been drawn.” In a strong warning against Pakistan, PM Modi said, “Terror and talks can’t go hand in hand, terror and trade can’t go hand in hand, water and blood can’t flow together.”
