The number of employed people in the United Kingdom increased by 112 thousand in the three months ending March 2025, following a five-month high of 206 thousand in the previous period.

This marked the weakest job growth since the three months ending December 2024, mainly dragged down by a fall in full-time employment.

Compared to the same period a year earlier, employment surged by 640 thousand, reflecting gains among both employees and the self-employed.

Meanwhile, the employment rate for those aged 16 to 64 was 75%, down by 0.1 percentage points from the previous period.
