OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — The Okaloosa County School District is actively participating in Mental Health Awareness Month.

The district says it aims to “engage students, staff, and families in activities designed to foster mental wellness, promote conversation, and provide mental health resources.”

This year’s theme is “Turn Awareness into Action,” with a special focus on resilience and thriving.

The district says it will observe Mental Health Awareness Month through “various initiatives, from fun activities to open dialogues about mental wellness.” The efforts are designed to raise awareness and take action toward improving mental health for all members of the Okaloosa community.

“We are committed to the mental health of every student and staff member in our district,” said Superintendent Marcus Chambers. “Our Mental Health Team plays a vital role in ensuring that our school communities have the support they need to thrive. Mental health is not just the absence of illness—it’s about resilience and well-being. As we move through Mental Health Month, I encourage everyone to reflect on their mental health, engage in open conversations, and take steps toward better mental wellness.”

The school district has a comprehensive mental health resource page for students, parents, and staff, which includes helpful tools, community resources, and guidance on how to seek professional support when needed. Click here to access it.
