Romania’s PM Marcel Ciolacu resigns after vote fiasco • FRANCE 24 English

After far-right candidate George Simion claimed more than 41 percent of ballots cast in the first round of Romania’s presidential vote rerun, current Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, whose party came in third, resigned from his post on Monday, claiming the results showed the ruling coalition has “no legitimacy”.

  1. Of course he resigned, the government was meant to increase taxes and put austerity measures next month bcs of how big the budget deficit is. Now that they lost they can quit before a crisis hits Romania and they can shift the blame on the new government that's most likely gonna be nationalist and use the pretext of foreign investors leaving as an excuse to cover the damage and stealing they did.

Them and their voters are the many lost children of the traumatic communist regime that refuse to learn and adapt to a capitalist republic. I hope Romanians will vote for Nicusor Dan 🙏
