  1. He should apply for invalidity pension on medical grounds.

  2. Unsurprising. I got denied mine because they thought I might grow out of it. Despite repeated doctors notes saying it was a lifelong condition

  3. It’s Means tested, so partners income is included

  4. He should be on Invalidity Pension. But they deny you three times unless you say your name backward in your bathroom mirror – not even joking about the denying it, they do it as a matter of course and most give up.

  5. > because he lives with his partner, Saoirse, and as she is earning above €386 per week

*With that kind of money it’s hard not to imagine they are living in a huge mansion, eating caviar by the spoonful, with a butler and a maid and a driver (for the Rolls-Royce) and a groundskeeper.* /s

What an insanely low threshold. He is suffering from an incurable disability. Pay him the money. It’s a pittance. We are not going to go bankrupt.

He’s not worth the money but [this is](https://www.rte.ie/news/2024/0903/1468050-bike-shelter/) fine?

  6. This is a fucking disgrace. “as she is earning above €386 per week”?

  7. What is the purpose of disability allowance? Is it to make sure the disabled person has enough money to survive?

Is that earning threshold enough for this purpose?

  8. Jesus. Give him his money. Plenty of chancers gaming the system, he’s not one of them.

  9. The €386 threshold sounds wrong, that sounds more like the figure the person themselves is allowed to earn in their 19 hours of allowed work per week?
