  1. its cold during winter, they need fur to survive.

  2. Short answer, no. We have plenty of normal cats also!

  3. In Norway there are little to no street cats. Cats have homes and owners that care for them and keep their coats clean and combed hence the fluffy look. They are also well fed healthy animals and tend to be larger in size than what you would see elsewhere.

Fluffier cat breeds and mixes are preferred due to the weather conditions but there are also a lot of short haired cats around who also look very well taken care of, you will notice their coats are shiny and that they are also larger than the average for their specific breed.

  4. Because if it wasn’t for that, you wouldn’t have a reason to ask about our cats 😛

  5. Norwegian forest cats are lowkey scary.

Today, I was hiking down the Mount Fløyen in Bergen, in fact few minutes ago. It was a solo hike and I saw this fluffy wild cat on a mansion, while the path was quite narrow.

So, this was after I saw all the Troll statues from Bergen. Hence, for few seconds the cat looked exactly like a Troll due to the darkness as it was 11 PM, I even thought it were a Troll mini statue, but the eyes were rolling while staring at me. I realized it’s a fluffy wild cat after I crossed that mansion. Lmao! Scary experience indeed.
