  1. what the hell, I can comment here?

    In a post about immigration?

Did someone forget to turn off autodeletion of most comments or is it getting warmed up?

  2. ‘Parents and children do not feel safe,’ one mother told The Journal about the picket on Basin Lane, Dublin 8.

Absolute cretins doing this worrying children

  3. I’m looking forward to a well-balanced, nuanced discussion about this here.

  4. “Another mother, who witnessed the protests at the school collection yesterday, said her overriding concern is the “blatant drug dealing beside the school every day”, not the presence of people seeking international protection.”

It’s almost like they don’t care about that for some reason

  5. “Shouting and roaring at kids passing by”, what a bunch of fucking heros……

  6. There’s no room or ability to house the Irish in Ireland. All new accommodation must go to anyone with IPAS status. This is the absurdity of the state of Ireland.

  7. “a lot is happening around here in recent years… massive development around Guinness, the new Children’s Hospital and those communities who are already disenfranchised, they just feel forgotten” – I hate saying it but so many other places around the city never mind the country would love this level of investment from the private sector and the public sector combined, right on their doorstep.

It’s sad because a significant reason why so many people love Dublin 8, and why a massive brand like Guinness has committed to making it it’s forever home – is at least the perceived community spirit that it had.

I really hope salt of the earth isn’t becoming scum of the earth.

  8. “I’ll pay you 100 euro to fuck off” – Irish people to the scum that do these protests

  9. Had an exam yesterday in Tallaght. There was an group outside protesting near enough to the main campus assume it was an big IPAS center or something. Bunch of Irish flags.

  10. Destroying the Irish flag using it in these contexts

  11. Women amd children aren’t safe. What from the clientele doing the protesting?

  12. I see the D4 potential IPAS hotel got closed fairly lively. The residents were not called anything. Not racists, not far right, nothing. Maybe the media were unaware of what was happening there. 😂

  13. Imagine blaming the most vulnerable in society for your problems!

  14. “We need to protect these kids so my sons can sell them drugs when they get older!”

  15. >On the alleged racist abuse faced by children this week, the mother said parents were “disgusted and sickened”.
While she acknowledged that deprivation and a lack of adequate housing for the community were ongoing issues around Basin Lane, the mother added:
Parents and children going to school do not feel safe this week. While gardaí were there at the scene yesterday, and said the group had a right to protest, what they do not have the right to do is shout and roar at kids passing by.

You mean to tell me the racists are a danger to children? I’m shocked! Shocked! /s

  16. there is already an ipas center on that exact location for a few years now and you would literally be none the wiser its there, never see or here from anyone out of the building, meanwhile just up the road there blatant drug dealing and local scrotes hanging around morning, noon and night rallying up and down the street on escooters, never see anyone out protesting against the anti social behavior, bunch of hypocrites

  17. Saw a video of one of the patriots yesterday interrogating children, asking where they’re from. Absolute cretins with too much time on their hands.

  18. Extremely biased article.  I know the area and can understand the concerns of the parents and the protesters.  No effort to produce an objective storyline.

  19. Brain dead racist scum shocker

Everywhere they go they bring misery. What a way to live

  20. These areas and their communities have been abused by consecutive governments since the Inception of the state. They are all victims here except for the gentry, they are victims of their own greed and aspiration.
