  1. During a 2.5-hour televised interview with various guests, President Macron addressed a wide range of issues:

    > **On Ukraine: “The challenge of challenges is to remain free”**

    > President Macron emphasized that in an increasingly dangerous world, the greatest challenge is preserving freedom. He reiterated France’s unwavering support for Ukraine and warned of upcoming sanctions against Russia if it fails to comply with a proposed 30-day unconditional ceasefire, jointly promoted by the EU and the US.
He also mentioned secondary sanctions targeting intermediaries in the financial and energy sectors.
Macron acknowledged the complexity of future peace talks, noting even Ukrainians recognize they may not fully recover territories lost since 2014.

    > ☢️ **On a European Nuclear Umbrella**

    >Macron revealed he would soon outline a framework for a European nuclear deterrence, an idea gaining traction in Germany, Poland, and other EU nations amid uncertainty over U.S. commitment to European security.
    He set three conditions:

    > 1. France will not finance others’ defense.
    > 2. It must not weaken France’s own security.
    > 3. The French President retains sole authority over the nuclear arsenal.

    > **On Gaza: “What Netanyahu is doing is shameful”**

    >Macron called the actions of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government in Gaza “unacceptable” and “a shame.”
He stopped short of calling it genocide, saying that’s the role of historians.
He highlighted his visit to the Egypt-Gaza border, describing it as “one of the worst things” he had ever witnessed, and criticized Israel for blocking humanitarian aid.
He said a review of EU-Israel cooperation agreements is “open for discussion.”

    > 💰 **On Wealth Taxation: “Only meaningful if global”**

    > Commenting on the “Zucman tax”, a wealth tax targeting billionaires inspired by French economist Gabriel Zucman, Macron said such measures only make sense if coordinated globally.
He warned unilateral action would cause the wealthy to relocate and emphasized France’s work with Brazil’s President Lula and U.S. President Biden at the G20 and OECD to promote a worldwide billionaire tax.

    >🏅 **On Religious Symbols in Sports**

    > Macron reaffirmed his support for the Olympic Charter, which prohibits the display of religious symbols (such as Islamic veils) in sports competitions, citing gender equality.
However, for non-competitive sport, he said federations should decide, stressing the need for pragmatism in training contexts, where religious symbols are not explicitly banned by law.

    > 🏭 **On Industry and ArcelorMittal**

    > Macron ruled out the nationalization of ArcelorMittal, second world’s largest steel producers.
He emphasized that the goal is not to take over the company, but to protect it and Europe’s strategic industry from unfair Chinese competition.
To achieve this, he floated the idea of creating a European industrial alliance, similar to Airbus, to unite and strengthen Europe’s steel sector and reduce dependence on foreign powers.

    > In addition, Macron addressed key domestic issues including education, national debt, and pension reform. He also expressed support for introducing a minimum age of 15 for social media account identification.

  2. Never forget the french gave a war criminal Zionist state nukes.

  3. Poland gets them Mondays & Tuesdays, Italy gets them Wednesdays & Thursdays, Spain and Germany get them on alternating 3 day weekends. Each country is responsible for feeding them and whoever has them on Saturdays must take them to McDonalds.

  4. I’d have thought the UK/France rivalry would have kicked in harder on this one.

  5. There is much to like about Macron’s five statements.

I hope it is more than just talk.

  6. >☢️ On a European Nuclear Umbrella

    >1. France will not finance others’ defense.
    >2. It must not weaken France’s own security.
    >3. The French President retains sole authority over the nuclear arsenal.

With RN at 40+% last election removing even political stability as a perk, this makes it a worse deal than US nuclear sharing in all aspects.

  7. Germany and Poland need coverage until they can stand up their own nukes.

  8. I keep telling you people, Macron would make a great EU president. I know he’s not liked in his own country (but then, the French never like any of their politicians), but he sure has loads of credit in the rest of Europe.

  9. Wealth tax should instead be a global same VAT tax and an lower amount of taxes for the rich(investment etc), i would hope we can agree on 15% and open books about wealths, and stopping the rich from borrowing on stocks
