Any thoughts on the CrazyHousePrices account? People have started showing up to houses he’s posted to abuse the owners.

  1. That’s hardly his fault in fairness. Adults being shitheads is beyond his control.

And that owner trying to rend that place for €4k a month is vile.

  2. People lashing out at unjust practices. House prices are reaching insanity in this country. I viewed a house that was bought for 170k in 2018 now listed at 300k+, it is absolute madness out there and people are reaching a tipping point.

  3. He’s also started a movement were people send letters to sellers outlining why they’d like to buy their house. My in-laws were selling their deceased parents house and were inundated with letters, full of sob stories, on why they deserve to buy the house and how they don’t have the money for asking price etc. It was absolutely ridiculous. They received 5 letters before the house was even on the market saying they had heard the owner had died, and if they’re considering selling please consider them! The audacity of people. As if a grieving family need that. Rip.ie isn’t Daft.

  4. I don’t think he necessarily means any harm when he posts but it’s a bit naïve to have built up his following and not think some people would think this is reasonable based on his posts.

  5. He’s in no way responsible for adults real life behaviour. He’s going about it the right way by contacting politicians and raising awareness of the dire situation many of his generations find themselves in. He seems to put a lot of work into the account and I think he has done a lot to call out shitty behaviour in that industry.

  6. He’s doing a great job highlighting housing issues and in no way has he encouraged people to do this. He’s one of the good guys. 👍

  7. That’s just terrible form on his followers part. Everyone should know these days that taking shit from the internet into real life is never acceptable. Gripe, bitch and moan all you want, don’t fecking go around bothering people.

  8. Looks like it was an illegal listing. It absolutely needs to be posted if that’s the case. Hopefully it didn’t go too far but the landlord deserves to be named and shamed

  9. Looks like he was doing a decent and honest thing to help people.

Now the people he was trying to help are jeopardising it.i wouldn’t be surprised if he puts the whole thing to bed soon.

  10. Fair play to him. I’m glad someone is keeping estate agents and rip-off landlords at bay. I’ve nothing against landlords but upping the rent from €2100/month to €4000/month is insane and illegal. Even if the property was sold

  11. Good, if only they didn’t just shout at the bastard, and gave the owner a reason to discount the prices. In a, somewhat civil manner.

  12. Someone is sound and points out the madness of the irish property market. . A couple of loopers are shitehawks and decide to bash down some poor saps door.

    Did I get it right?

  13. Don’t agree with people calling to any homes but his account is doing fantastic work calling out greedy landlords and estate agents.

  14. Why should we vent our anger at politicians all the time. Protesting directly to these scumbag landlords is way more satisfying and will achieve much quicker results if its done en masse

  15. Good, I’m glad, get a land league back up and running and organised to give these landlords / letting agents / chancers some well deserved grief

It’s not on him tho , not his fault at all

    Edited: spelling

  16. He’s doing a lot more than most in tackling the utter corruption that has flooded this country. Corrupt to the point that so many of us can’t even keep a roof over our heads for any sort of reasonable price. Hundreds of thousands of adults (many working) miserable at home living with parents or moving every few months. Homes are not commodities. But, sadly, our silent compliance with the abhorrent inflation and manipulation of the system has left us in this mess. Thank you Crazy House Prices for ALL that you do. He is not to blame for others rightful anger. Abuse is never ok. It just shows how much people are hurting.

  17. Hey, OP here.

I’ve been following this guy for a long time and have enjoyed his content and think he’s doing a lot of positive work overall. I wasn’t trying to make a “callout post” and at no point was implying that he was encouraging people to do stupid shit.

Getting some PMs here that are making me feel very uncomfortable so I’m gonna bounce.

  18. I think he’s great. I know he didn’t condone or support any behaviors but I think it’s should be fair game any investment prick who does this. I have zero sympathy for cunts who exacerbate our housing crisis.

  19. Poor widdle landlords/property investors crying about the abuse they get for being so greedy, my heart bleeds for them.

  20. As a 30 year old with a decent job and decent savings I like his account. As it stands I will never own a home . The country is a disgrace. Now introducing a mandatory pension because we will still be renting in retirement and the state pension won’t cut it. It honestly turns my stomach

  21. In what way is he responsible for someone else actions?

Is it better to just hide that fact we’re being royally fucked over with housing here?

Shall we put house price posting under ‘hate speech’ now

  22. So on one hand, he’s doing a brilliant job highlighting parasitic landlord practices that are ruining the country and lives of working class people. On the other hand said parasitic landlord now said he feels sad. Where’s the downside??
