Is the US „lead poisoning epidemic“ of the 60ies and 70ies the reason for Trumps success?

I was reading through a study around lead levels in the US.
People born between 1951 and 1980 were exposed to extremely high lead levels. While the world was banning lead in gasoline and paint since the 60ies the US would not „infringe“ on the rights of the industry to make money and poison the whole country until 1980.
Young kids, who have been exposed to high levels of lead have a significantly lower IQ and less cognitive abilities. There are dozens of studies out there.

Still today 37M households in the US have lead paint coated walls.

What got my attention: the states, that had the highest lead levels in the 70ies basically all voted Trump in 2024.

Also the MAGA base is mainly in the age group of the „generation lead“, so people born between 1951 and 1970 in the areas were lead levels were extremely high. Is this a coincidence? Or did i finally find the explanation for why idiocracy has taken over?
