Not a big fan of the idea. I think passports can have some EU symbols but I think it is much more interesting to enjoy and share each country’s culture and peculiarities that make each special. I think most passports reveal monuments and people that are symbols of their own culture.
I completely agree that Europe should be united, but I harshly disagree they should have a European federation.
They shouldn’t give up their sovereignty, in my opinion.

There’s already Schengen and the agreements for EU countries established. It would take away from each countries respective passport and each passport has its own little history, colors/style and that hint of home that gives them their unique appeal.

It would be a useless widget. Passports are already harmonised, already mention the EU, and are seamlessly accepted everywhere in the EU.
Creating a generic “EU-only” passport would offer no added value over existing national EU passports, and make a lot of people who are attached to their national identity angry, pushing anti-eu sentiment even more.
If you want a more EU-centric look, use a passport cover with an EU flag on it.

I don’t need a new passport, I need instritutions to be able to share my information between themselves, so I don’t have to spend weeks going to 12 different offices to get my accomodation and registration settled when I move to a different EU country
Oddly enough, my cat does have this basically. It is cool, but maybe a little bland in its design. Would be cooler to keep each territories coats of arms and such. Maybe front coat of arms – flag and back EU? idk about design
Ok ok… hear me out: the passports are all in blue with the europian stars on them, but the coat of arms/symbol is from the sector (country) you got your pass from.

With mounting debt and total unwillingness in many countries to seriously rein in spending, I’d expect the EU to sooner face its own potential demise than it becoming a singular country.
Main culprit at the moment – France. The French electorate needs to accept their welfare state is impossible to maintain over the long run and spending needs to be slashed quickly, or we’ll eventually have a sovereign debt crisis that will make Greece’s one look like child’s play
I find EU to be a very important project, but it will be a no from me for outright EU citizenship.

Great Britain left the European Union when it became clear that Russia was getting stronger. Those who look ahead don’t want to drown. It was interesting to watch how Britain voted for Brexit the second time. If it hadn’t worked out the second time, there would have been a third vote.

Perfectly pointless. All passports are thechnically EU passports now and Eurpean Union is also written on them. And also their value is fairly the same too since EU makes visa deals together usually.
