Two teenagers have been charged and several others are expected to be arrested over a large brawl on Sydney’s north shore in which a female police officer was kicked in the face and a boy repeatedly stomped on.
The brawl involving several teens broke out about 7.40pm on Saturday at the Northbridge Community Fireworks event.
Footage of the brawl, aired by 2GB, shows a group of teens attacking a boy, who tries to escape through the crowd at Northbridge Oval, before he is dragged to the ground.
The boy is punched several times and stomped on as a security guard tries to break up the fight. As the guard moves one of the attackers away, another approaches, kicking the boy in the head.
The boy is kicked again while on the ground, before a witness tackles one of the attackers to the ground. The witness is then dragged off the teenage assailant, who is held down by the security guard.
A person can be heard calling security and police to the oval over a loudspeaker.
Superintendent Paul Devaney said a “hostile” group of youths had surrounded police, sparking a call for more officers to be deployed.

A 16-year-old boy from a neighbouring suburb was arrested on Saturday night and charged with several offences, including being armed with intent to commit an indictable offence, common assault, affray, assaulting police and resisting arrest.
