Why are so many data centres popping up in Finland?

  1. Nato country with good infrastructure and alot of engineers from Nokia.

  2. Cheap electrcity. Cold climate. Stable society. Nato. Maybe cheap land too.

  3. There is the added benefit of using waste heat for heating homes

  4. Cold climate, stable source of electricity, nato and easy tax avoidance for international companies.

  5. Because Finland is the Congo of Europe, I bet the finnish taxpayers have to pay those foreign corporations to have their data centers here.

  6. All these data centers will be using so much electricity that we need 3 more olkiluotos to keep the price of electricity decent in future. Soon we all have to pay for the datacenters in our electric bills.
